What actually happens behind the scenes
What we need from you
The subject's first and last name, their year of birth, and the last four digits of their Social Security number. That is genuinely all we need to start.
If you know aliases, a maiden name, or states they have lived in, adding them helps, but none of it is required. If a search turns out to need more information, we email you rather than guessing and returning a weak result.
What we do with it
We start with the national criminal database to get the broadest possible first pass. Then we run an SSN address trace to build a real residence history, because the addresses people supply are rarely complete.
That history tells us which county courts to search, and county courts are where criminal charges and their dispositions actually live. We search all of them, not just the current county of residence.
Finally, a person reads the results by hand. Partial name matches, records missing a disposition, and near-miss identifiers all get worked manually, which is the step that separates a real check from a database dump.
What you receive
A written report sent to the email address you provided at checkout. Most reports are delivered within 2–3 business days.
The report covers what was searched and what was found, including charges, pending matters, and dispositions. If nothing was found, you get a clear report saying so. That is a legitimate result, and often the one you were hoping for.
If we need more information
Some searches need an extra detail to resolve confidently, a common name in a large county being the usual case. When that happens we email you from info@reliablechecks.com and pause the search until you reply. We would rather ask than send you a report we are not confident in.
